In the vast, silent expanse of the Mojave, a lone Joshua tree stood,
its twisted limbs reaching toward the heavens like a prayer unanswered.
The midday sun hung mercilessly overhead,
pressing down with unbearable heat.
Then, without warning, the air shifted
static crackled through the stillness.
From the horizon, a tornado of pure lightning coiled into existence,
spiraling upward like a living tempest,
its form writhing like a vengeful god of the wind.
It moved with chaotic grace, drawn to the tree as
if seeking to erase its defiance.
But the Joshua tree did not bow.
It had withstood centuries of merciless heat, bitter cold,
and the slow erosion of time itself.
The air roared with fury,
yet the tree remained, scarred but standing.
The meaning was clear: no force,
no trial could break what had already learned to endure.
